Our client is seeking two Technical Support Scientists within their validation & technical support group.

This is essentially a laboratory based role; the work will mainly involve the planning, performing and reporting the results of experiments into our range of microbiology and diabetes products (mainly ELISA and Immnunofluorescence based products). The job holder will also co-ordinate the handling of customer complaints and enquiries for both OEM and retail customers

Responsibilities include:

Designing and scheduling of lab based practical validation studies and product investigations.
Involvement in external quality assessment schemes (NEQAS, CAPS).
Processing raw data and summarising for inclusion into written reports.
Performing Immunoassay and Immunofluorescent tests.
Undertaking GLP & GMP lab routines such as the maintenance and calibration of laboratory instruments & equipment.
Attending meetings and liaising with the R&D and Customer Services groups over technical issues.
Keeping an accurate written record of all practical work performed.
Liaison with personnel from other departments within the Company in the UK and abroad, external collaborators and customers

Person specification:

Educated to HND/ Degree in biological subject preferred
Practical experience of immunological techniques such as ELISA and IF
Technically competent
Familiarity with use of Word, Excel would be beneficial
Excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills
Self motivated, good initiative
Flexible and willing approach to learning new techniques
Good team player
