Our client is seeking an organized Biosafety officer within their Surrey Laboratory.

.Duties:  Day-to-day involvement in the production of biosafety risk analyses for activities carried out on the site, for dispatches of materials from the site and for the arrival of infectious agents on site
Conducting biosafety. Maintenance of audits results, follow-up
and  scheduling
Liaising with other authorities from other H & S  Executive and DEFRA
Deputizing for the Head of Biosafety in providing technical advice for on-site production and maintenance operations.
With the QA/QC Coordinator organising the despatch of diagnostic and infectious substances by air and being an authorised signatory on the Shipper’s Declaration For Dangerous Goods.
Alongside other QA staff, controlling the movement of antigens and virus from the Restricted Areas.
Involvement in the assessment of the efficacy and validity of decontamination procedures.
Maintenance of records and equipment in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practice.
Compliance with company’s policies and requirements for Health and Safety, Biosafety and GMP
It is likely that he successful candidate will hold a science degree in microbiology, virology or related subject area. He/she will need to be self-motivating and possess the following personal attributes:
a) care and attention to detail alongside a logical mind, b) ability to work as a member of a team as well as individually, c) good judgment, d) ability to work to tight deadlines and determination to complete tasks properly, e) quick to learn new roles/duties, f) excellent organizational skills g) good IT skills
