Main Function:
To develop new analytical methods and specifications for regulatory inclusion in Pharmacopeia.
SPECIFIC DUTIES
To prepare apparatus, equipment (HPLC, GC, Karl Fisher, UV, potentiometer, coulometric, dissolution apparatus) and any appropriate documentation for analytical studies and subsequent analysis of samples received from these studies.
To perform analysis (quantitation, identification) which encompasses the following:Stability studies, including drug substance and drug product analysis,
o Identification and quantitation of related substances,
o Control of drug product and drug substance
To assist in the development and validation of methods to meet the needs of the Department.
To prepare and update SOPs.
To assist with the preparation of information reports and summary reports.
To assist in other duties as required in the Analytical Department not specifically outlined in this section.
To ensure that the standard of work is in compliance with GMP and to maintain a state of cleanliness within the designated laboratory area.
To be responsible for the maintenance of capital equipment as indicated in the list of equipment.
To undertake any other study or project-related tasks as delegated by the Team Leader of Post Marketing Analytical Laboratory
To undertake any specific responsibilities (see Training Records) as delegated by the Team Leader of Post Marketing Analytical Laboratory.
To ensure safety standards are maintained and accident records are completed.
To attend Performance Appraisal and Development Discussions with Team Leader once a year.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Educated to degree level (BSc) or equivalent (e.g. MPharm) in a scientific discipline.
Relevant analytical chemistry experience or postgraduate qualification MSc).
