Study Manager
Location: Cambridge Salary: 30K

A vacancy exists for a graduate/post-graduate in Experimental Biology’s Screening Technologies team, which performs in vitro ADMET screening assays on pre-clinical drug candidates. Core techniques performed include microwell based assays (genetic tox, metabolism, prediction of gut absorption (e.g. caco-2), various drug-drug interaction assays (cytochrome P450 and transporters) and cytotoxicity assays), and it is expected that the successful candidates will have proven experience of some of these assays. Experience in absorption and metabolism are particularly desirable though not essential.

The position will suit an individual with the ability to adapt to new techniques, and they should be capable of working independently or as part of a team. The post holder will be expected to manage a laboratory, organise and manage studies, analyse samples and produce reports as well as contribute significantly to the developing portfolio of screening assays. Good inter personnel skills and the ability to work to deadlines will be required for this demanding role, which will require effective communication and organisation within/between departments and with clients. Subject to training and performance, there are good opportunities for promotion within the department.

The successful candidate will have PhD in Toxicology/Pharmacology or related discipline with post doctoral research experience or experience within commercial industry.

Duties:

Organise the conduct of studies that they are allocated.
Develop good working relationships with a wide range of clients.
